Drone Strike in Kharkiv Injures Five Amid Ongoing Attacks

A drone strike in the Industrial District of Kharkiv has resulted in injuries to at least five individuals, including a 16-year-old girl. The attack, attributed to Russian forces, targeted residential buildings in the area.

According to the Situation Center, there was no direct impact on the buildings, and no fires were reported within the apartments. However, the explosion shattered numerous windows in two high-rise buildings.

Vehicles parked near the affected buildings caught fire, with reports indicating that two cars were engulfed in flames and an additional seven vehicles sustained damage. Emergency services, including the State Emergency Service, medical responders, and police, are currently on-site to manage the situation.

The number of injured individuals has increased to five, comprising:

  • A 16-year-old girl, diagnosed with acute stress reaction;
  • A 41-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, who are receiving assistance on-site;
  • A 51-year-old man, who has been hospitalized with blast injuries.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed that a minor is among the injured, and all victims are receiving necessary medical care.

Kharkiv and its surrounding region have been under regular bombardment from Russian military forces, which have employed guided bombs, S-300 missiles, and Shahed-type drones, primarily targeting civilian infrastructure and residential areas.

On the night of March 8, Russian forces launched 117 strike drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Air defense units managed to intercept 98 drones, although strikes were recorded at 11 locations.

The previous night saw an even larger assault, with 480 drones and 29 missiles, predominantly ballistic, deployed against cities including Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and regions such as Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia.

A ballistic missile strike in Kharkiv hit a residential high-rise, resulting in a fire and civilian casualties, including children. In response, March 9 has been declared a day of mourning for the 11 victims of the March 7 missile attack.

A drone attack in Kharkiv injured five people, including a minor, as the region continues to face regular assaults from Russian forces. Emergency services are responding to the ongoing threats to civilian infrastructure.
