A fire broke out at an oil depot in Armavir, Krasnodar Krai, following a drone attack on the night of March 8, according to local emergency services.
By morning, officials reported that the fire had been contained over an area of 700 square meters, with 120 personnel and 38 units of equipment engaged in firefighting efforts.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it intercepted 72 Ukrainian drones overnight, including four over the Krasnodar region. Ukrainian military sources have not yet commented on the incident.
Videos circulating on various Telegram channels depict significant flames at the oil depot, with reports indicating damage to multiple storage tanks at the facility.
Since the onset of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, various sites within Russia have experienced aerial strikes. In 2024 and 2025, oil refineries have frequently been targeted, alongside facilities in occupied territories of Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed the majority of these attacks, stating that Ukrainian defense forces are systematically implementing measures aimed at reducing the combat capabilities of Russian occupation forces and compelling Russia to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.
