In the Tairov community of Odessa region, the deputy Danylo Topolnytsky suggested to perpetuate US President Donald Trump, setting his bust at a local arboretum.
In addition, he proposes to name one of the streets with the name of Trump and give him the title “Honorary Citizen Tairov”. The corresponding appeal has already been sent to the head of the community.
According to the deputy, such an initiative is a symbol of gratitude for the support of Ukraine during Russian aggression. Topolnitsky stressed that it was under Trump’s presidency that Ukraine first received lethal weapons from the United States, including Javelins and air defense systems.
The deputy also noted the economic aspects of Ukraine’s support by the US President. According to him, Trump’s customs policy contributed to Ukrainian exports, leaving a duty at a level of 10%, which is much less than in EU countries and China.
This, according to Topolnitsky, has created new opportunities for the development of the Ukrainian economy.
Another important argument, the deputy called the influence of US policy on the world oil prices. Reducing the cost of energy weakens Russia’s financial capacity to wage war.
The appeal also refers to the involvement of US experts to consult a bust.
The initiative must yet be considered at the session of the Tairov settlement council. The deputy hopes that the community will support his proposal, because Donald Trump, he said, is not just a politician, but an ally of Ukraine in the struggle for freedom.
