The current president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, has a chance to become president for the second time in the next elections. But for this, the head of state will have to completely reorganize his image: from the “president of war and calamity” to become the “president of peace and restoration.”
Political scientist and political technologist Oleg Posternak told about this in an interview with UA.News.
According to the expert, Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains an electorally dependent politician. This is normal for any democratic society.
At the same time, if we make a real sociological “picture” of Ukrainian society, we will see the real state of affairs. For example, if you ask how society sees the end of the war, then, according to the political scientist, it will be a temporary truce with the Russian Federation and the cessation of hostilities.
“That is, in this sense, we need real success on the path of European integration, the reorganization of the country, and a referendum. All these chips will allow Zelensky to win the initiative in relation to old politicians. Restoration of investments, deployment of large-scale projects in the defense industry, etc., says Posternak.
The expert believes that the average Ukrainian wants the president to be strong and intelligent enough to protect the country from the new aggression of the Russian Federation. If this does not happen, then such a Ukrainian will most likely go to Europe after the borders are opened.
“These are the prevailing thoughts in Ukrainian society now. Zelensky must take this expectation and show that he is the next president of a peaceful, civilian Ukraine, the president of restoration, investment, modernization, digitalization, and so on,” Oleg Posternak summarized.
Earlier, Oleg Posternak named four reasons for which Zelensky is losing popularity and trust of Ukrainians.
