On May 9, foreign ministers and diplomats of European countries arrived in Lviv. In particular, the head of EU Callas Diplomacy and the New Foreign Minister of Germany Johann Vadeful came to Ukraine.
The leaders informed about it on their pages on the network X.
“Today we celebrate Europe Day with Ukraine and its people. Because the family shares both joys and difficulties. Together with foreign ministers, we are one with Ukraine for a strong peace. For the future we believe in, ”Callas wrote.
Vadeful posted a video the day before that he came to Ukraine.
“We will do what is necessary and do it as much as it will be necessary until Russia realizes that this war should end, that we should sit at the negotiating table and that we must quickly and consistently adhere to the ceasefire regime,” he said.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal also participated in a meeting with European diplomats. The parties discussed a wide range of issues, including the situation on the front and defense needs.
The Prime Minister thanked the partners for the initiative to allocate 1 billion euros for the Ukrainian defense industry, and an initiative to increase Ukraine’s military support in 2025.
Schmigal noted that in the near future Ukraine is expecting a provision on a new SAFE tool, which will allow to participate in joint procurement of the necessary defense products together with the EU Member States both in the European market and directly from Ukrainian producers.
The head of the Ukrainian government noted that the diplomats touched the topics of sanctions against Russia separately.
“We expect that the 17th package will be agreed and approved by European countries as soon as possible. It is necessary to increase the pressure on the aggressor in order to force it to peace. We also count on further work on the confiscation of frozen Russian assets and their direction to the needs of Ukraine. I thank Kai Callas for her personal contribution to our country’s support. We appreciate the solidarity of the European Union with Ukraine at this difficult time, ”the Prime Minister stressed.
It is worth recalling that there will be two important events in Lviv today – a meeting of EU foreign ministers and a meeting of the Core Group for the creation of a special tribunal on the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
The visit of foreign guests began with honoring at the Lychakiv Cemetery of Ukrainian Heroes, who sacrificed their lives, protecting Ukraine from Russian aggression.
We will remind, the Narvsky Museum (Estonia) again placed by May 9, a large poster that puts a sign of equality between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leader of Nazi Germany Adolf Hitler.
And during the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow, a Russian dictator presented drones to foreign guests, who every day Russian invaders kill civilians of Ukraine. It is noted that these drones participated in the parade for the first time in history.
