On the evening of January 12, Russian troops carried out airstrikes on a children’s health center (OTC) in Sumy. A fire broke out on the premises.
This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Sumy Oblast and the Telegram channel of the Sumy Oblast Military Administration.
The residential sector of the city also came under enemy fire. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
The rescuers reported that they had to work simultaneously at several addresses.
“The sources of ignition have been eliminated. The affected areas have been surveyed,” the State Emergency Service noted.
Video and photos of the aftermath of the attack were also made public. The Sumy OVA clarified that the fire on the territory of the OTC occurred due to the fall of fragments of a Russian drone.
“There are no previous victims. All the necessary services are working on the spot, the consequences of the attack are being clarified,” the administration said.
Russian troops have been regularly shelling Sumy region since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The border areas suffer the most, but recently the enemy has intensified attacks on the city of Sumy itself.
