The defense of Donetsk airport went down in history as one of the most heroic pages of the modern war for the freedom of Ukraine: 242 days of fierce battles, thousands of feats, superhuman endurance and self-sacrifice.

Among the defenders of the airport were special agents of the Main Directorate of Intelligence.
We will remind you that in May 2014, a group of military scouts under the command of the legendary GUR officer, Hero of Ukraine Maksym Shapoval, was one of the first to enter the airfield.
As a result of their actions, the enemy suffered significant losses, and the strategic object came under the control of Ukrainian forces.
The feat of the defenders of the Donetsk airport became the foundation of the modern Ukrainian army and an example for new generations of soldiers who are still fighting against the Russian aggressor.
