Ambassador of Ukraine to Ireland Larisa Herasko became a victim of the Russian propaganda campaign against Ukraine. Criticism of her level of command of the English language became part of the Russian information and psychological operation.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in a statement sent to UA.News.
“Heads of foreign diplomatic institutions – ambassadors and consuls of Ukraine – are evaluated primarily by the results of their work, in particular, achievements in the protection of national interests and effectiveness in defending the positions of our state on the international arena. Recently, we have recorded an increase in the number of attempts by Russia to discredit Ukrainian diplomats through information attacks, fake materials, manipulatively edited videos, etc.“, the department noted.
Such attacks are considered by the department to be a recognition of the effectiveness of the work of Ukrainian diplomats, who effectively represent the interests of Ukraine abroad and cause significant informational and political losses to the aggressor. Russian propaganda tries to discredit those who demonstrate real results in strengthening international support for Ukraine.
“The system of the diplomatic service of Ukraine remains stable, professional and united in the face of external threats. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to actively oppose hybrid influences on the state’s diplomatic activity and will maintain a high level of professional reputation of its representative offices at all levels of international communication“, the department added.
We will remind, previously the Ministry of the Armed Forces of France refuted the statement of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service about the alleged transfer of two thousand French soldiers to Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia denied the video, which appeared on October 20 in social networks and in which it was claimed that a 75-year-old woman was allegedly deported from the country for protesting against the dismantling of Soviet monuments.
In Poland in social networks spread fake news about a “triple murder” allegedly committed by a Ukrainian in Krakow, but the police of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship categorically denied this information.
