On January 21, the opening of a large photo exhibition by Kostyantyn Liberov was held in the Gulliver shopping center, the main purpose of which is to highlight the personal stories of prominent Crimeans of today. Among the heroes of the photo exhibition: editor-in-chief of the media “Ukrainian Pravda” Sevgil Musaeva, prominent Ukrainian politician, dissident and leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev, People’s Deputy of Ukraine and Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea in 2022-2024 Tamila Tasheva, singer Jamala, director and currently a military serviceman Akhtem Seitablayev, a veteran of the “Azov” regiment and defender of the city of Mariupol Asan Isenadzhiev.
Olympic medalist and world champion in artistic gymnastics Anna Rizatdinova, who also became one of the heroines of the photo exhibition, acted as the ideological inspiration and mentor of the photo exhibition. The photos for this initiative were taken by Kostyantyn Liberov — Ukrainian photographer, who, together with his wife Vlada Liberova, has been documenting Russia’s crimes against Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion, talks about the heroism of the Ukrainian military and the realities of life during the war.
“I am Crimean, and always, with any of my sports or personal achievements, as soon as I got the right to speak, it was important for me to emphasize that I am from Crimea, because I am incredibly proud of it. Since 2014, the peninsula has been under occupation, and I, like millions of other Crimeans, cannot get to my native home. For me, this photo exhibition is an opportunity to say one more word, one more way to remind that Crimea is Ukraine, and no matter how much time passes, we will all be waiting for him to return to the Ukrainian home,” commented Anna Rizatdinova.
“In order to have a future, it is important to record the present. Crimea continues to be the soul, symbol and home of millions in Ukraine. Our struggle began more than ten years ago on the peninsula and continues to this day. And during all this time, we remember the goal — to get back our own,” Kostiantyn Liberov shared.
The event dedicated to the opening of the photo exhibition was attended by the heroes themselves, outstanding Ukrainian state and public figures, military personnel, representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, volunteers, influencers and leaders of public opinion.
