In the case of corruption in Energoatom, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (SCAC) corrected an error in the official information regarding former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov.
This is stated in press service AP of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
The court confirmed that the appeal in his case has not yet been considered. The press service of VACS noted that the decision concerned another person who was kept in custody with the right to post a bail of 25 million hryvnias.
The review of the appeals of the defense of Chernyshov, who is involved in the scandal, was scheduled for November 25, but did not take place due to the busyness of the judges.
As a result, the meeting was postponed indefinitely. According to the investigation, Chernyshov appears in the embezzlement of funds in the amount of 1.2 million dollars from “Energoatom”, which caused a significant public outcry.
The next steps in this case depend on the new meeting dates and further actions of the VAKS. The situation with corruption in state-owned enterprises remains under close scrutiny, because the consequences of such cases can significantly affect trust in the authorities and the progress of reforms in the country.
VAKS determined a precautionary measure for former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov within the framework of the proceedings regarding the embezzlement of funds of the National Nuclear Power Generating Company “Energoatom”. Chernyshov was remanded in custody for 60 days. But with an alternative – depositing a deposit in the amount of 51 million 600 thousand hryvnias.
Former Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov, suspected of illegal enrichment, appealed the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HCC) regarding the preventive measure.
