Constitution Day of Ukraine is one of the most important national holidays, traditionally celebrated on June 28. On this day, Ukrainians mention the adoption of the Basic Law, which guarantees their rights and freedoms, as well as lay the foundations of the state system. In peacetime, this holiday is an official non -working day, and if it falls on a day off, it is envisaged to postpone the day off for the next working day. However, in 2025 the situation has its own peculiarities due to martial law.

Date of the holiday of Constitution and coincided with the day off

In 2025 the day of the Constitution of Ukraine, June 28, falls on Saturday . According to Article 73 of the Labor Code of Ukraine (Labor Code), it is a holiday and non -working day. Under normal conditions, when the holiday coincides with the day off (Saturday or Sunday), Article 67 of the Labor Code provides for a day off on the next after a holiday or non -working day. So in peacetime Monday, June 30, it should be a day off.

Holidays during martial law

However, martial law continues to operate in Ukraine. The Law of Ukraine “On Organization of Labor Relations in Martial Affairs” temporarily suspended the validity of certain provisions of the Labor Code of Ukraine, in particular, those concerning the postponement of weekends.

Therefore, during the martial law, the rate of transmission is not applied. It means that June 30 2025 will be a normal working day .

What does this mean to Ukrainians?

For most Ukrainians working in a five -day working week, Saturday is June 28 and is a non -working day. However, it is important to understand that on Monday on Monday, June 30 is not envisaged because of the specificity of legislation in wartime.

Thus, in 2025, the Day of the Constitution of Ukraine remains a national holiday, which is celebrated on June 28, but due to martial law, the transfer of the original on Monday, June 30, will not take place. Ukrainians will operate in normal mode, as in a normal (non -celebration) working day, unless otherwise provided by separate orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which have not been made public.

Even without an extra day off, the Constitution Day remains an extremely important holiday, especially in a full -scale war. It is a day when it is worth mentioning the fundamental principles on which the Ukrainian state is based: sovereignty, independence, democracy, the rule of law and protection of human rights and freedoms.
