The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision that allows Ukrainians to receive compensation for housing destroyed in the temporarily occupied territory.
This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, the Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
According to him, more than 150,000 families have already benefited from the “eRecovery” program, receiving a total of UAH 53 billion. The government’s new decision improves the compensation mechanism and for the first time opens up the possibility of payments for property destroyed on the TOT.
First, compensation will be provided to participants in hostilities and people with disabilities of the I-II groups. The received funds can be used only for housing programs in Ukraine.
Kuleba emphasized that citizens who have not traveled abroad will be able to receive payments. Later, the mechanism will be extended to other categories of the population.
To confirm the loss of property, only data on the place of registration will be used, since it is impossible to collect the necessary documents in the occupied territories.
Kuleba noted that the resolution is experimental in nature, but the government expects that it will become an effective tool for supporting people and stimulate their return to Ukraine.
As of November 10, 145,226 Ukrainian families received compensation within the framework of the state program “eRecovery” for a total amount of UAH 52.33 billion.
