The birth of a baby is one of the most important and joint events in the life of each family. This moment brings not only happiness, but also many new worries and challenges.
In Ukraine, the state tries to support young families, providing them with financial assistance during the birth of a baby. And in 2025, the issue of payments and the conditions of their receipt remains relevant.
In this material, UA.News will talk about the main types of state aid at birth. Let’s also tell you what amount of payments is provided in 2025 and what documents you need to collect for registration.
The main types of childbirth payments in Ukraine
One of the main forms of state support is one -time childhood assistance. In 2025 its size is 41 280 UAH. This amount is designed to cover the first necessary costs associated with the care of the newborn. It is provided in parts:

10 320 UAH is paid immediately after the baby is born;

30 960 UAH is paid in equal parts for 36 months. It is 860 UAH a month.
Large families for the third and each subsequent child are additionally paid 1 700 UAH on a monthly basis. The funds will come until the child is 6 years old.
In addition, if twins, twins or more children are born in the family, and the family becomes large, state financial assistance is paid for each child separately. One of the parents who resides with the child and participates in its upbringing is entitled to receive these funds.
Who has the right to help with the birth of a child in Ukraine?
The right to receive state support have:

How to decorate help in the birth of a child in Ukraine?
To register one -time assistance, you must apply to the social security department within one year after the baby is born. The following documents are added to the statement:

parents’ passports;

identification codes;

Family composition certificate.
It is also important to follow the legislative changes, as payments can be adjusted.
What is a municipal nanny
Parents of children under the age of three can take advantage of a state service called “Municipal Nanny”. This service makes it possible to officially hire a baby nanny. In this case, parents receive monthly compensation from the state for services rendered.
The service is available to those parents or guardians who return to work and have concluded an official contract with the municipal nanny.
Importantly. The child should need additional care or have a disability.
The amount of compensation is 2 563 hryvnia per month. This is a subsistence minimum for children under six years of age. Compensation can be received for every child who is cared for.
How to design a service municipal nanny
To apply for a service, you must contact the social protection body within a month after the contract with the nanny. The contract must be stated:

name of the service;

the amount of work performed by the bailiff;

conditions and terms of child care;

the cost of services;
-
frequency of payment;
-
the responsibility of the parties.
The nanny may be an entrepreneur or legal entity that provides children care.
Is it possible to make help if the baby is born abroad?
In 2023, parents who are temporarily abroad were given the opportunity to issue state payments for the child. For this purpose, citizens of Ukraine with official registration in the country have several important steps.
First you need to open a bank account intended for social payments. Next, fill in the application for assistance at birth. Officially legalized documents issued by the competent authorities of the country of residence must be added to the application. They should confirm the fact of birth of the baby.
All documents, together with the application, should be sent by mail to the social protection body at the place of residence or declared residence in Ukraine. The application can be submitted within the year of the child.
The social protection body that receives the application and documents makes the decision to appoint payment. After that, the funds will be transferred to the parents’ open bank account.
It is important to keep in mind that, according to the National Social Service Service, children’s payments are not provided to families living in countries recognized by the legislation of Ukraine by occupying states or aggressor states.
