In Ukraine, the situation with the power supply of the ZNPP is complicated by the occupiers’ deliberate refusal to connect the plant to the Ukrainian power grid. As a result, the power plant has already experienced ten blackouts since the beginning of a full-scale invasion, which seriously increases the risk of nuclear accidents.
Experts emphasize that for safety, it is necessary to ensure proper cooling of the reactors, so it is important to quickly complete the repair work.
Continuation of work as part of international cooperation and compliance with the situation in the conflict zone will be a guarantee of reducing risks and improving energy security in the region. The IAEA is actively cooperating with all parties to avoid further energy collapses at the station.
