On April 20, all Christians, no matter what the calendar use, will celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. Simultaneous celebrations by various denominations – not uncommon, but every day before such an event, conversations about the unification of calendars are activated. It is also hoped that such a coincidence could be a reason to stop strife and conflicts – in 2025 it was said that Russia and Ukraine would agree to end hostilities and move on to negotiations.

Christmas together, Easter apart
In 2023, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine switched to the new Church Calendar. The main change was that the fixed holidays, such as Christmas, began to be celebrated with the Christians of the Western tradition, which use the Gregorian calendar.
But Easter Orthodox and Catholics are celebrated almost that they are from a year to a year and still on different Sundays. Why?
