According to the Center for Combating Corruption, Maksimenko, which NABU and SAP are suspected of demanding a bribe of $ 40,000, tried to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, probably to avoid responsibility.
“It looks like this is another suspect who wants to avoid punishment through mobilization. After all, while the persons involved in corruption are in the service, the limitation period in their affairs gradually emerges, ”the CPC said.
The Armed Forces noted that rear positions should not be a way of evasion of justice. Due to a number of similar cases, the command has increased the control of the conscription procedure. As a result, the order for the call of Maksimenko was canceled.
“This confirms that any attempt to use the rear positions as a loophole to evade responsibility will be resolutely terminated,” the Land Forces stressed.
