The production of Ukrainian Octopus interceptor drones in Great Britain will reach a thousand units per month already in February 2026.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, after talks with his British colleague, John Gealy, in Kyiv.
According to him, this will be an important step in strengthening the defense potential of Ukraine.
“Since February, we have been producing 1,000 Octopus interceptor drones per month,” Shmyhal announced on social networks.
The agreement on setting up the release of these drones on British territory was signed in September of last year. Prospective plans include further capacity building to several thousand drones every month.
During the meeting with the British Defense Minister, the parties also discussed a wider range of defense cooperation.
In particular, it was about the possibility of implementing joint strategic industrial projects in the field of air defense and long-range weapons.
Particular attention was paid to the prospects of localization of production of Swedish Gripen fighters, which contain technologies of British companies.
It will be recalled that Ukraine and Great Britain signed a road map of defense partnership for 2026.
Russia also stamps hundreds of long-range drones every day.
