Great Britain has started an audit that could open the way for Ukrainian beef to the British market as early as next year.

The review is carried out by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) in a remote format.

According to the State Production and Consumer Service, the audit was another confirmation of international trust in the Ukrainian food safety control system.

Oleg Osian, the first deputy head of the service, emphasized that the audit demonstrates the effectiveness of the state’s new strategy in opening foreign markets.

“We built systematic cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, relevant ministries, diplomatic missions and international partners, which made it possible to significantly shorten the time frame for opening markets. If earlier this process took up to five years, today it lasts only a year and a half,” Osian noted.

In September, world meat prices broke records. A decrease was recorded for other basic products.

In the second half of September 2025 in Ukraine was observed rising prices for most types of dairy products, despite limited domestic demand and reduction of sales volumes in trade networks.
