The second necessary step, the head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, calls the adoption of a law that will allow full online car customs clearance — without contact with officials.
Car customs clearance through “Diya”.
As early as April 24, 2024, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the first reading of draft law No. 10380, which provides for the customs clearance of cars through Diya.
Both individuals and legal entities, as well as their authorized representatives, will be able to use the new mechanism. At the same time, we are talking exclusively about passenger cars. Trucks, motorcycles, trailers and other vehicles will have to be registered according to the current procedure.
How will the value of the car be determined?
The key change should be the automatic assessment of the value of the car. It is from it that all customs payments are calculated – excise, VAT and duty. Diya already has a suitable calculator that takes into account the year of manufacture, the type of engine and its volume.
