At a checkpoint near the border with Moldova, border guards stopped a car with a man who provided documents that he was deaf and dumb. But the phone gave him away.
According to the State Border Service, border guards of the Mogilev-Podilskyi detachment, together with representatives of the National Police, stopped a car driven by a 37-year-old resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region for inspection. The passenger was a 25-year-old man, a compatriot of the driver, who provided documents of a hearing and speech impaired person of the second group of disabilities.
However, the inspection found that the certificates have signs of forgery: there are no stamps on the photos and stamps of an unknown type. In addition, his voice messages were found in the man’s phone, which finally disproved attempts to feign muteness. In the end, the man himself spoke and during the conversation admitted that he had planned to cross the border illegally with forged documents.
It was also established that the driver arranged for him a “full package of services” for 3,500 euros – production of forged documents and delivery to the border.
In addition, during the inspection of the “Volkswagen” car, law enforcement officers found stamps, clichés and forms with imprints of the TCC of one of the regions. These forms were issued in the name of men of conscription age.
A 25-year-old Ukrainian man was brought to administrative responsibility under Article 204-1 of the Criminal Procedure Code “Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine.”
Under the procedural guidance of the Mogilev-Podilskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, the driver was notified of suspicion under the article ch. 3 Art. 332 of the Criminal Code “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border.”
