President Trump’s healing on the removal of elements from the nation destroyed by the war is an illusion. Ua.news made a complete translation of the material Bloomberg According to Havier Blasa.

What Ukraine has, then the burned land; What is not there is rare earth elements. Surprisingly, many people – not least US President Donald Trump – seem to be convinced that the country has rich mineral resources. It’s stupidity.

This is not the first time Washington is mistaken in his geology in the war zone. Back in 2010, the United States announced that they found unused mineral deposits in Afghanistan for $ 1 trillion, including those that are important for electric vehicles as lithium. The Pentagon came to the fact that Afghanistan described “Saudi Arabia Lithium.”

All these are very important things, a kind of geo -economic shock that covers a global political map. But it was like many people spoke then, and as everyone knows now, a solid fantasy. The same applies to Ukraine’s likely riches.

There are no rare earth metals in Ukraine
Despite talking about huge potential, there are no reserves in Ukraine in Ukraine, which Donald Trump sought. If copper and lithium are mostly concentrated in Afghanistan, the key to the electrification of everything is in Ukraine in Ukraine the focus of rare elements, a collection of 17 elements, which would be remembered by their pagan names.

The list includes such as preseode, dysprosium and promettia. For Trump, the importance of stocks of rare earth elements is explained by the fact that China dominates the world proposal. In small quantities, the elements are used in exotic alloys.

Although they are often represented as important for high -tech uses and production of weapons, their use is much more prose. Dyson Ltd., a popular British homework manufacturer, boasts that he uses the neodymium element in the magnets of his vacuum cleaners, for example, so they “rotate five times faster than the formula-1 engine”.

The excitement around the Ukrainian rare earth elements began with the Ukrainians themselves. Desperately trying to find a way to attract Trump, they were mistaken by presenting in November the new President “Victory Plan”, which spoke about the potential of mineral resources of the country. They soon lost control of this narrative.

On February 3, Trump strongly stated that Ukrainians have “very valuable rare earth metals.” He added:

“We strive to conclude an agreement with Ukraine, where they are going to provide what we give to them, with their rare earth elements and other things.”

A few days later, he repeated, telling Fox News on February 11 about his talks with Ukrainian officials:

“I told them that I wanted the equivalent of rare earth items worth $ 500 billion.”

I was puzzled. As far as I know, there are no significant deposits of rare land in Ukraine except for small scandi mines.

The US Geological Service, which deals with this issue, does not indicate that the country has any reserves. Like any other database commonly used in a mining business. Simply put, “watching money” does not work here. In the best case, the cost of the whole world production of rare earth metals reaches $ 15 billion a year – the emphasis on “Year”. This is equal to the cost of only two days of world oil production.

Even if there were giant deposits in Ukraine, they would not be so valuable in geo -economic terms. For example, Ukraine was able to produce 20% of the rare earth elements of the world as a magic wand. This will be about $ 3 billion a year. In order to reach $ 500 billion stated, the US must provide 150 years of production in Ukraine. Pure nonsense.

Large goods against rare earth metals
I see two opportunities: that Trump is right – and I doubt – and in Ukraine there are really many rare earth elements; Or that he was wrong, and instead of “rare earth” he meant other minerals. Or, perhaps, he took the small potential of one element – scandium 2 – and extrapolated.

Let’s look at the second option because it would at least have some sense. Although there are no industrial land in Ukraine in Ukraine, it has mines containing other minerals. Before the war with Russia, Ukraine produced significant volumes of iron ore and coal. None is strategic, but the country made decent money for both.

Problem? Some mines are now in the territory conquered by Russia. Trump may have combined “Liquid earth lands” with a much wider concept of “important minerals”. From the latter in Ukraine there are several industrial deposits of titanium and Galium. Both are quite valuable and have some strategic importance, but again, control over any will not change geo-economic. And they, of course, are not worth $ 500 billion declared by Trump.

However, the US president adaptly referred to rare earth elements; Not once, but several times. So he may know something that the world does not know. But I did not find any reliable source that would claim that Ukraine is overflowing.

Each document that someone pointed to me repeats the same statements of conspiracy theory that can be found in the blogosphere. They are inclined to mistakenly perceive the accumulation of some rare land minerals as a commercial mine. Many distinguish the Novopolta deposit, opened by the Soviet authorities in 1970 as a potential source. Although there are small amounts of rare earth elements, it seems impossible to dig them – so this place remains an unproductive field, not a mine for more than 50 years after its opening.

The Ukrainian government described the Novopolta field as a “relatively complex” for extraction and stated that any production of rare earth elements would be “balance sheet”, which means that it is economically unprofitable to operate them at the current prices. Even worse, mineralogy is contrary to this: a host source is a mineral that complicates the removal of elements.

The worst of the pamphlets, which states that Ukraine has repositories of rare earth metals, has a print of the Organization of the North Atlantic Treaty and is widespread as proof that Trump is right. It was created in December 2024 by the NATO Energy Safety Center, which is based in Lithuania.

Despite the fact that the organization is affiliate with the military alliance, has its name and logo, this The organization and its analogues are autonomous bodies outside the command chain.

Document provocative: “Ukraine is a key potential supplier of rare earth metals such as titanium, Lithium, Beryllium, Marganets, Galium, Uranus…” This list should alarm. Everyone who has a cursory knowledge of chemistry knows that none of these minerals are rare land.

It is unclear why NATO’s original data is attached to a report that seems to be devoid of elementary verification of facts. The press secretary told me that the views reflect the views of the author, not NATO-what is not said in the document. The report without corrections is still available online.

If it was a source used by Trump advisers to convince him of the wealth of rare land elements of Ukraine, it would be a gloomy – a global policy based on copying and insertion. However, this will fit Kafkian in 2025.
