At the beginning of July 2024, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption revealed signs of a corruption criminal offense in the actions of the former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Dmytro Verbytskyi. The collected evidence indicates his illegal enrichment of almost 29 million hryvnias.
“Scheme” journalists found outthat Verbytskyi together with Ilnitskaya settled in a house in the elite cottage town “Konyk” in Kyiv. Since the prosecutor could not show the unjustified income publicly, the estate for the couple was purchased by his nephew by proxy from an Odessa businessman for over 2 million hryvnias. The investigation found that even this price at the time of purchase turned out to be six times lower than the cost.
Currently, Ilnytsia is trying to gain political weight, collecting various thanks from Odessa officials.
