On the night of January 11, at 02:11, the Zaporizhzhia region was in complete darkness – a large-scale blackout occurred, due to which the region was completely cut off.
According to Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo, more than 382,000 families were left without electricity.
Energy workers immediately started emergency work to restore the light supply as soon as possible.
Around 4:30 a.m., the regional military administration reported that experts are gradually restoring power supply in populated areas of the region. Already by morning, the energy system of the region was stabilized, and the light returned to all consumers.
Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo and Zaporizhzhia OVA called the situation extraordinary, but the reasons for the incident are currently not disclosed.
During the power failure in the region, the increased activity of the occupying forces was recorded.
According to local authorities, during the day the invaders fired 821 shots at 27 settlements in the region. Residential buildings, infrastructure facilities and businesses were damaged as a result of enemy attacks.
Restoration work is ongoing in some areas, but critical infrastructure is already functioning normally.
As a reminder, emergency power outages have been introduced in Boryspil district due to critical damage to power grids.
Also, in Kyiv, energy workers returned the light to more than 150,000 homes after shelling.
