“The information of certain publics about the build-up of Belarusian troops on the other side of the border does not mean the creation of strike groups and preparations for offensive actions,” said Kovalenko.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine fully control the situation in the border areas, he added.
According to observers, Belarus has recently increased its military presence on the border with Ukraine. Units of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus were transferred to the Stolin, Lelchit, Mozyr and Gomel districts.
It is also known that at the end of December, a military transport aircraft Il-76 of the Russian Air Force flew to Belarus from Russia.
