In Donetsk region, the suspicion of the battalion commander was reported, which organized an illegal accrual of combat allowances worth about UAH 1 million.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, in 2023 three battalion servicemen received additional payments for three months allegedly for participation in hostilities, although they were in fact in the rear.
The commander personally forged documents that served as a basis for payments, which led to the losses of the state budget for almost one million hryvnias. He was suspected of abusing office, inputting false data in official documents and their forgery with grave consequences. Articles’ sanctions include up to 6 years in prison.
