On August 4, the Orthodox Church celebrates the Day of Remembrance of the Holy Seven Children of the Ephesus – Young men who refused to renounce Christianity in the III century, for which they were murdered in a cave and, according to legend, were wonderfully sleeping more than a hundred years.
Their amazing awakening was evidence of the resurrection and the power of faith for the emperor.
Also, on this day, they remember the Holy Edokia, who, after a lecherous life, repented, became a nun and became famous for a harsh fast, prayer and healing, but died by a martyrdom for his devotion to Christ.
On August 4, people are associated with the signs of weather and prohibitions: “You can not borrow money” and “give room flowers”, because there is a belief that it can take away your happiness.
