During a joint briefing with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy answered questions about possible concessions from Russia during the negotiations, saying that the Russian Federation should go “by three letters.”
“What should Russia do? Three letters. It is desirable for her to understand that she is doing what she is doing – killing us, and we are defending ourselves and fighting the enemy,” the president said.
Zelenskyi emphasized that currently Ukraine’s plans remain unchanged.
“Indeed, we really want to be stronger so that this war ends in 2025,” said the head of state and apologized for “undiplomatic language.”
The President also noted that the main issues during the negotiations with the Chancellor of Germany were the strengthening of defense, the prospects of the European Union and the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO.
On December 2, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made an unannounced visit to Kyiv for the first time in two and a half years. Also that day, Scholz announced the preparation of a military aid package for Ukraine in the amount of 650 million euros.
Scholz last visited Ukraine in June 2022 together with French President Emmanuel Macron and then Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
On November 29, Zelensky had a telephone conversation with Sholtz. The Chancellor of Germany told the President of Ukraine the details of his call to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
