Fedir Khristenko, a non-factional deputy elected to the Verkhovna Rada from the banned OPZZH party in 2019, will soon lose his parliamentary mandate after being convicted of treason.
The sentence was passed by the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv in early December 2025, where Khristenko pleaded guilty to a crime committed during martial law.
The decision to remove the powers of a People’s Deputy will become final after the verdict becomes final.
The loss of the mandate by Khristenko is part of a wider process, in the framework of which more than 64 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation have already left their posts for various reasons. Among them are deputies convicted in criminal cases, such as Andriy Odarchenko.
Such cases testify to the strengthening of control over legislators and their activities, especially in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine, which was caused by Russia’s aggression. Further steps regarding Khristenko will be determined in accordance with current legislation.
We will remind, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General’s Office informed about the suspicion of the current People’s Deputy, Fedor Khristenko, for the prohibited OPZZ.
Also, access to the court decision was closed in the case of the People’s Deputy from OPZZ Khristenko.
