As it turned out, the ex-deputy of the Shostka city council was recruited by the enemy FSB in July of this year.
According to the investigation, the traitor secretly monitored the movement directions of the Armed Forces echelons and recorded the locations of Ukrainian troops protecting the border areas of the Sumy region. He drove around the area, took photos and videos, and also asked acquaintances for the necessary information.
The agent sent the received data to the personnel officer of the FSB in the Bryansk region. The SBU has already established the identity of the curator.
In his so-called “reports”, the ex-regional asked to attack the city as soon as possible, in particular, the buildings of the TCC. But in the end, he was detained at his residence in Shostka and a mobile phone with evidence of criminal activity was seized.
The man was charged with treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property. The suspect is in custody.
