Prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office have sent an indictment to the Holosiivskyi District Court against a former employee of the prosecutor’s office, accused of a fatal traffic accident.
According to the investigation, the man was driving under the influence of alcohol and caused the death of the woman. As a result of his actions, a 61-year-old woman from Kyiv died on the sidewalk.
The tragedy happened in the evening of July 19, 2025 on Velyka Vasylkivska Street. A drunk driver drove into a pedestrian zone and hit a woman who was walking on the sidewalk. The victim died on the spot from her injuries.
Instead of calling an ambulance or the police, the man tried to run away, but was quickly apprehended by witnesses and patrol officers.
A medical examination showed a high level of alcohol in the accused’s blood. He was charged with violating the rules of road traffic safety and driving a vehicle while intoxicated, which led to the death of a person.
In addition, the former prosecutor is accused of deliberately leaving the victim without help, who was in a life-threatening condition and could not save herself.
