On March 8, participants of the 30th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition (UAE) went from Kiev to Academician Vernadsky station.

The 30th UAE should replace the previous annual expedition at the Vernadsky station and work until April 2026.
“It is symbolic that the team begins on the International Day of Struggle for Women’s Rights, because in the 30th UAE, as in the previous 29th, a record number of women is four. Moreover, this expedition is an anniversary, and next year will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its transfer to Ukraine from the United Kingdom. We are proud that despite all the difficulties and a full -scale war, we continue to participate in world science, ”said NASC Director Yevgeny Dyky.
The 30th expedition includes 13 participants and participants: 8 scientists, doctor, cook, sisadmin, systemic mechanic and dyselist-electrician. They will conduct geophysical, meteorological and biological studies, as well as maintain the station infrastructure. The team was headed by an experienced polar, meteorologist Alexander Noa. He goes to winter in Antarctic for the sixth time.
Earlier, the participants of the 29th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition on World Science Day at 16:00 conducted an online excursion by Academician Vernadsky.
