At a meeting on Thursday, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) decided to fine the American company TNA Corporate Solutions LLC, headed by Nicholas Piazzi, in the amount of UAH 2.21 million.
This is reported by AMCU.
The company violated the legislation during the implementation of the concentration, acquiring shares in the authorized capital of 14 enterprises that were part of the agricultural holding “Ukrlandfarming”, created by businessman Oleg Bakhmatyuk.
In particular, we are talking about “Avangard” Agrarian Holding LLC, whose revenue for January-September 2025 amounted to UAH 3.83 billion, which is five times higher than last year’s figures, according to the YouControl service.
The list also includes Financial Consulting Company Avangard Ltd., Trade-Agro LLC, Agrarian Perspective LLC, Agricultural Enterprise Vesna 21 LLC, Ukrainian-English joint venture Dubnotsukorinvest (LLC), Budyshcha LLC, Vilna Sloboda LLC, private research and production company Interbusiness, Zoloty Lan-N LLC, private agricultural enterprise “Dobrobut”, TO “Saan-Agro”, LLC “Distribution Company Agrotech” and LLC “Hetmanske”.
In October 2024, Ukrlandfarming reported that lawsuits filed by Gramercy Funds Management LLC and affiliated companies against Bakhmatyuk, Piazza, Oleksandr Yaremenko, SP Capital Management LLC, TNA Corporate Solutions LLC and/or Maltofex Ltd were voluntarily withdrawn. The parties concluded a confidential dispute settlement agreement.
“Now that the legal proceedings against Mr. Bakhmatyuk are over, the company is freer to negotiate with creditors and focus on growing and rebuilding its business after it lost roughly half of its value due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” the release said.
Despite the difficult situation, “Ukrlandfarming” remains one of the largest agricultural holdings in Ukraine, although the total losses from the military aggression of the Russian Federation are estimated at approximately $1.2 billion. A significant part of the financial obligations of the ULF group has been in default since 2017.
In November 2017, international creditors estimated the total debt of “Ukrlandfarming” and “Avangard” at approximately $1.65 billion: about $1.25 billion – to international banks, about $400 million – to Ukrainian banks. The debt to international creditors consisted of about $775 million in the form of Eurobonds and $475 million in credit debt to European and American banks.
Earlier, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine fined three security companies for collusion during tenders conducted by the Kyivpastrans utility company.
