Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgeny Korniychuk calls for a reasonable restriction on the number of Hasidims who come to Uman to celebrate Rosh Ha-Shan for security and limited city infrastructure.
Yevgeny Korniychuk told this in an interview with Glavcom.
Korniychuk emphasizes that the city is “not rubber” and the annual growth of pilgrims requires solving security and organization problems.
He proposes to take an example from Saudi Arabia, which sets fixed limits by the number of Hadj participants.
According to him, the optimal number of pilgrims should be calculated together with the City Hall, the Security Service and the law enforcement officers, and in the event of exceeding this limit – to refuse entry.
We will remind, why the Hasidims come to Uman every year.
The Hasidims also completed the celebration of Rosh Ha-Shan and began to leave Uman.
