It turned out that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the number of teachers has decreased by 12% (40,000) and there is a significant gap between teachers of humanitarian and technical fields – the latter are less than one and a half times.

in addition, more than 40% of teachers are set to leave the profession by 2030 – mathematical modeling shows that in 2030 the shortage of educators will probably be 108,000 teachers, although the figure could be much higher.
At the same time, a little more than half of students majoring in pedagogy have plans to become a school teacher in the coming years, and for 6 years the average entrance score has decreased due to the low prestige of the profession.
According to the research, only 47% of teachers are satisfied with their work, and 80% are convinced that society does not value their work.
However, educators noted that they are mostly satisfied with their relationships with students, colleagues and parents. Bureaucracy, low wages, and heavy workload are the main demotivators.
From 2025, teachers in Ukraine will receive monthly supplements to their wages.
From January 1, 2025, a monthly supplement of one thousand hryvnias will be established for all teachers of general secondary education.
