Subhonkul Rakhimov, a passenger of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane that crashed in Kazakhstan’s Aktau on December 25, published a video taken on board shortly before the crash. This is reported by Radio Azattyk.

The video shows the situation in the cabin when the plane was still on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to Rakhimov, the pilots tried three times to land the plane in Grozny, and during the third attempt something exploded” outside the plane.

For the third time, something exploded. There was an explosion—I wouldn’t say inside the plane. Where I was sitting, the paneling next to me flew off… [Рятувальний] I took the vest, I looked: there was a hole in the vest – a shrapnel pierced it. After this explosion, just between my legs – somewhere there – this shrapnel flew and hit me. He pierced the vest all the way through,” the passenger told RT propagandists.

The publication notes that according to Flightradar, it is unclear whether the plane reached Grozny, but it is clear that it had problems with control. The pilots barely managed to maintain altitude for more than an hour. The source of the Baza Telegram channel at the Aktau airport said that the elevators did not work, and the pilots only controlled the plane with the thrust of the engines. Another passenger after the disaster recorded an audio in which he said that flew for two hours and waited for his death” – this also confirms the information about the problems on board before the crash.

The Flightradar service later reported that the flight path was distorted due to GPS jamming and data tampering, the Agency reports. According to the service, after an unsuccessful attempt to land in Grozny, the plane flew in the direction of Aktau.

Earlier, a video showing holes in the tail of the crashed plane began to be distributed on the Internet. The Russian Telegram channel Baza reported that the holes are similar to those left after shelling or an explosion with impressive elements. The so-called Russian military officials wrote that the plane could have been accidentally shot down by Russian air defense, which was repelling a UAV attack on Chechnya.

Also, a video from the cabin of the plane before the crash, in which a woman, according to their version, injured by shrapnel, can be seen in the Azerbaijani mass media.

Another video from the cabin appears to show damage to the plane’s wing.

The agency noted that the authorities of the aggressor country did not recognize the drone attack on Chechnya in the morning of December 25 and for several hours hid the fact that one of the drones was shot down over Vladikavkaz.

Azerbaijan Airlines suspended flights to Grozny and Makhachkala until the end of the investigation.

On December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190 flying from Baku to Grozny crashed in Kazakhstan’s Aktau. The Grozny airport said that the plane could not land there due to fog. There were 62 passengers on board the plane (most of them are from Azerbaijan) and five crew members. Rosaviatsia explained the crash as a collision with birds.

According to the latest data, 38 people died and 28 were injured as a result of the disaster.
