The refusal to sing in the Russian Federation was not accepted and severely punished prisoners for it.
As for “brainwashing”, imposing Russian narratives – Dmitry Khiluk said that in that prison, he was still, ideological work was “not at height”.
“No, there was no one. In Pakino, ideological work was put very bad. And all because in Novozibkov we were perceived as prisoners of war, and there was a detention center there. And the Pakin prison is a regular prison, without Zampolites or something. We were kept there as Zaks and treated us as ZEKs, ”the journalist said.
According to his move to Pakino, there is probably a red cross, says the journalist.
“There was an emergency building in Novozibkov. The floor of rotting, mice climbed, wooden… So, perhaps, the red cross or what started to insist – show, saying, where did you share the prisoners, are they alive at all? Therefore, I think we were taken to Pakino to show more or less a condition, ”the former prisoner said.
Representatives of the Red Cross came to the colony once and were interested in the conditions of prison. They were forced to answer that everything was satisfied, because the conversation was watched by prisons and could then take revenge.
“They came once, May 26, 2023 – we were transported in Pakino … We asked if we get treatment or let us eat. Of course, we said that we were getting everything, because there were guards with bodyboxes above the soul. We understood that if you say now that you are literally starving, medical care is bad, and the attitude is humiliating, then the kidneys are being slapped. Therefore, everyone was “satisfied”, – added Khiluk.
He said that the Russians treated prisoners, as cattle – obscenely called, could hit the ribs, demand to walk with a lowered head, not look in the eyes.
“But although it was not necessary to sing the anthem of Russia, as in Novozibkov. There we sang every morning. Either the anthem, or the “sluggish” of the time, – the journalist said.
He added that it was impossible to refuse to sing.
“But they did not refuse, because … so they were banging, they were sore that they could only break away. The youth of these songs did not know at all, the “dream” of this … Young people were no longer growing for the scoop, it was in my childhood that shit from every iron was heard. And for those who born in 2000, did it seem an old junk on the hell? Interestingly, by the way, the Russians thought, as if their “wonderful” song inheritance everyone knows. “How,” they said, “you do not know the anthem of Russia?” And what kind of good miracle do we have to know him? So they even brought it to us, that anthem – on small such shreds of paper printed, and gave everyone, ” – said Khiluk.
