A year has passed since the introduction of a new control system for tax audits with body cameras, but the lack of a decision on their mandatory use nullified the effect of the reform.
This was announced by the head of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev.
According to the parliamentarian, the initiative was supposed to radically change the conduct of tax audits, increase their transparency and ensure the recording of the entire process. However, Hetmantsev emphasized that the lack of mandatory use of body cameras made the reform ineffective.
“The very absence of a decision on the mandatory use of body cameras during inspections completely nullified the goal of the reform, which was expected to ensure objectivity in conducting tax inspections, recording the entire inspection process, as evidence of the presence or absence of violations during such an inspection, the absence of corruption risks,” he explained.
The politician called on tax officials to change their approach in 2026 and use body cameras not as a “uniform accessory”, but as a real transparency tool that will guarantee the fairness of checks and minimize corruption risks.
Earlier, the Accounting Chamber approved the work plan for 2026, which provides for the completion of 52 control measures and the start of 14 new audits.
