The authorities of the Poltava region are starting preparations for the opening of the first two transit centers for people who are forced to leave dangerous regions due to hostilities.
According to the head of the Poltava OVA Vitaly Dyakivnych, these objects will work in the format of multifunctional hubs following the example of 19 centers already operating in other regions of Ukraine. The new infrastructure is designed to provide comprehensive support for displaced persons immediately after arrival, which is especially important against the background of the growing intensity of evacuation, within which more than 147 thousand people have been relocated since the summer of 2025.
Transit spaces will offer evacuees a wide range of services, from providing basic humanitarian aid and medical examination to legal support. Specialists of the centers will help citizens restore lost documents, register for receiving state payments and arrange financial support from international donors. This approach should significantly speed up the process of initial adaptation of people who lost property and stability due to Russian aggression.
The creation of such hubs is part of a nationwide strategy to protect civilians, as Russia continues to shell residential neighborhoods, forcing thousands of Ukrainians to seek refuge in rear regions. The head of the region emphasized that the opening of the centers will help systematize the flow of immigrants and reduce the pressure on the existing social protection system of Poltava Oblast. The development of the project takes into account the experience of the frontline regions, where similar institutions have proven their effectiveness in crisis situations.
Previously, mandatory evacuation of children and their parents from 19 settlements was introduced in the Donetsk region.
Prior to this, the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine (Ministry of Development) announced the beginning of forced evacuation of children with their parents from dangerous areas of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine reported that mandatory evacuation of children together with their parents or legal representatives has been agreed upon from a number of settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
In Kharkiv region announced compulsory evacuation of families with children from the village of Odnorobivka.
