In the Cherkasy region there was a resonant event – a man diagnosed with “Paranoid schizophrenia” was mobilized to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Despite the presence of a serious mental illness, he successfully passed the Military Medical Commission and received a referral for service.
It is known that the man had an officially diagnosed and registered with a psychiatrist. His relatives provided all the necessary documents confirming the health, but this was not an obstacle to mobilization.
After passing the VLK, he received a summons and was sent to the military unit.
Later, law enforcement officers became interested in the situation. They opened criminal proceedings on the possible official negligence of officials who made the call of a man with severe mental disorder.
The investigation is currently underway and the mobilized is under the supervision of doctors.
We will remind, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to change the approach to the work of territorial centers of acquisition and social support (TCC). In the future, Ukrainians will be able to turn to any convenient CCC-regardless of their place of registration.
Also, the Armed Forces Command has introduced new rules of conduct and communication for the TCC servicemen during mobilization measures. Their goal is to reduce tension in society and avoid conflict situations.
