According to the investigation, in November 2024, two acquaintances who wanted to go to the European Union addressed the law enforcement officer. The official offered them a route through Belarus, who considered “safer”.
For his “services” he demanded $ 8,000 from everyone. He involved a local resident who was well aware of the border area.
According to the plan, the law enforcement officer had to personally bring military personnel from Rivne to all checkpoints to the village near the border. Further, the men had to carry his accomplice to the border, and the transition to Belarus was to be carried out on their own according to the instructions obtained.
The law enforcement officer was detained on the hot on December 12 after receiving $ 8,000 from one of the clients.
Both participants were chosen by a preventive measure – detention with the possibility of bail.
They are charged with the organization of illegal crossing of persons through the state border, by prior conspiracy, re -and for selfish reasons (Part 2 and Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Sanction – up to 9 years in prison.
