The Office of the Prosecutor General, together with the State Bureau of Investigation, reported the suspicion of the former temporarily acting duties of the Director of the Department of Public Procurement and the supply of material resources of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The investigation found that during 2023 the suspect concluded 76 contracts for the supply of fuel and lubricants for special assignment equipment for a total amount of more than UAH 17 billion. At the same time, more than UAH 2 billion of value added tax was unreasonably included in these contracts.
According to the investigation, these actions have caused significant losses to the state budget. However, in the course of pre -trial investigation, economic entities that were contractors under concluded contracts voluntarily reimbursed more than UAH 1.8 billion.
The former official is charged with official negligence (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and the use of deliberately forged documents (Part 4 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Investigative actions are ongoing.
