A tragic road accident occurred on the highway in the Khmelnytskyi region, in which two people died, including a minor child.
According to preliminary police data, the accident occurred after the driver of the SUV “Jeep Grand Cherokee” drove into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with the truck “Volvo FM 400”.
The SUV was driven by a 42-year-old man who was traveling with his wife and two young children. A 7-year-old boy died on the spot as a result of a strong impact.
The driver himself was seriously injured and died in hospital. His 39-year-old wife and one-and-a-half-year-old daughter were hospitalized in serious condition.
The truck driver, a 59-year-old man, was also injured. Medics treated him, after which he was taken to the hospital.
Investigators, experts and rescuers worked at the scene of the accident, investigating the circumstances of the accident and ensuring the safety of traffic on the section of the highway.
