Ua.news It has collected five weeks for weekends in Ukraine. They are ideal for those who seek inspiration, peace or just new landscapes and impressions.

Lake Synevyr (Carpathians)

Synevyr is one of the most famous and picturesque lakes of Ukraine, located in the heart of the Ukrainian Carpathians. It was formed about 10 thousand years ago as a result of a shift that blocked the mountain river. The lake is considered a carpathian business card and is part of the Synevyr National Nature Park.

The reservoir is located at an altitude of 989 meters above sea level in the Mizhhirsky district of Transcarpathian region. Its area is about 4-5 hectares, and the depth reaches 22 meters.

It is most convenient to get to Synevyr through the village of Mizhhirya. Buses from Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv are running.

The lake is surrounded by a coniferous forest, and in the center you can see a small island, often called the “sea eye of the Carpathians”. On the shores there are viewers, wooden sculptures, benches and photographic zones. Nearby there are tourist routes, eco-tracks, souvenir shops, as well as the Museum of Forest and Alloy.

Kamyanets-Podilsky Fortress (Khmelnytskyi)

The Kamianets-Podilsky Fortress is one of the most famous historical monuments of Ukraine, which is striking, preservation and picturesque location. It is part of the Kamyanets National Historical and Architectural Reserve and is an important copy of Ukrainian defense architecture.

The fortress is located in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi in the south of Khmelnytsky region, above the canyon of the Smotrich River. The complex consists of eleven towers, massive walls and defensive shafts, which preserved the features of different architectural styles – from Gothic to Baroque. Its basis was formed in the XI -XII centuries, and the final appearance of the fortress became in the XVI -XVII centuries, when it was actively used as a military and administrative center.

Kamianets-Podilskyi can be reached by train or bus from Khmelnitsky, Chernivtsi, Kiev or Lviv. From the railway station or bus station to the Old Town where the fortress is located, it is convenient to get a taxi or walk – the way runs through the historic part of the city.

The fortress is attracted not only by architecture, but also by the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. There is a museum inside, there are excursions, festivals, theatrical activities and historical reconstruction. Panoramic landscapes to the canyon and the city open from the bastions. You can also visit the Old Town, the Church of Peter and Paul, the Armenian Quarter and the Town Hall.

Kamianets-Podilskyi fortress has never been fully captured by hostile troops. Because of this, it is often called inaccessible, and the location itself is included in the list of “Seven Wonders of Ukraine”.

Sofiyivsky Park (Cherkasy Region)

Sofiyivsky Park in Uman is one of the most famous patterns of landscape art in Ukraine and Europe. It is not just a park, but a real outdoor museum, created at the end of the eighteenth century. It combines natural beauty, architectural forms and literary and mythological motifs, which makes it a unique cultural and tourist object.

The park is located in the city of Uman Cherkasy region. It was founded by a Polish magnate Stanislav Potocki in 1796: it was a gift to his wife Sophia.

The park area is about 180 hectares, and the composition is based on the plots of ancient Greek and Roman mythology. Here you can see waterfalls, artificial grottoes, canyons, lakes, fountains, gazebos and sculptures, the names of which are often sent to the heroes of ancient legends.

The peculiarity of the park is a harmonious combination of natural forms with man -made objects. In the warm season there is a boat walk by the underground river Acheron, and in the spring and autumn the park is striking in colors-from gentle green to saturated yellow-red colors. There are thematic excursions, exhibitions and festive events in the territory.

Sofiivsky Park is included in the list of world heritage of landscape gardening. According to legend, each composition in the park hides a symbolic message from Stanislav to Sophia – not only as a recognition in love, but also as a complex history of personal relationships.

Tustan Fortress (Lviv Region)

Tustan is a medieval rock fortress and customs located in the Carpathians in the territory of Lviv region. It is a unique monument of history and archeology, because the defensive complex was erected not on the plain, but directly in the rocks. Tustan is striking both with its natural landscape and in the traces of wooden structures, which have been preserved in the stone since the IX -XIII centuries.

The fortress is located near the village of Urich, Stryi district, Lviv region, on the territory of the Tustan State Historical and Cultural and Cultural Reserve. In the Middle Ages, it was an important border and trading center of Kievan Rus, through which the salt path from Drohobych passed. Tustan performed defensive, administrative and customs functions.

You can get to the castle by car or bus through the village of Stryi or Skhidnytsia. From Stryi to Urych, minibuses run, or you can get your own transport. The road takes about an hour. From the entrance to the reserve to the rocks, a pedestrian trail with viewing platforms leads.

Today, Tustan is not only the remains of a fortress built into the rock, but also a modern cultural space. There is a museum in the territory where you can see the reconstruction of wooden fortification, artifacts and interactive exposures.

More than 4,000 holes cut down in stone for mounting wooden structures are preserved in Tustani rocks. Thanks to these traces, Ukrainian researchers were able to accurately reproduce the appearance of the fortress in 3D – this is one of the first archeological projects in Ukraine, implemented in digital format.

The City-Power City (Ternopil Region)

Zalishchyky is a small city in Ternopil region, often called the custom. It is located in the bending of the Dniester, the river washes it on three sides. This form of relief creates the impression that the Zalishchi are on the island. It is an ancient city with a rich history that reaches the fourteenth century.

Zalishchyky lie in the southern part of the Ternopil region, almost on the border with the Chernivtsi region. They separate them from Ternopil about 125 km, and from Chernivtsi – less than 60 km. The city is located in the Dniester Canyon, one of the deepest and most beautiful in Ukraine

You can reach the Zalishchyna by train, bus or your own car. There are direct rail connections with Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kiev and Che Rnivtsi. Bus flights run conveniently from most regional centers.

The Zalishchi are located in a unique climatic zone, often called Ukrainian subtropical. It is warmer in winter than in most regions of Ukraine, and the warm season lasts longer. Due to this, grapes, peaches, figs and even tulip trees grow in the city.

The city has a park with centuries-old exotic trees, which is part of the nature reserve fund. But the main wealth is the landscapes of the Dniester Canyon, which open from the observation platforms on the opposite bank.
