“The fight ended after the tenth round, when Arnold refused to continue the fight”, — write: sport.ua
The main event was a 12-round lightweight title fight (up to 57.2 kg) – the WBO world champion, a Mexican, met in the ring Rafael Espinosa (27–0, 23 KO) and Arnold Hegai (23–2–1, 14 KO), who represents Ukraine.
Hegai did not force events, tried to press the opponent, used overhands. The champion confidently controlled the distance, moved perfectly on his feet, threw hooks and uppercuts.
The Ukrainian boxer acted successfully in some moments – for example, he twice caught the Mexican with side kicks, but in response he missed much more. He hit Espinosa too often, broke the contender’s nose, and a hematoma appeared on Hegai’s face.
With each round, the advantage of the champion became more and more serious, he dangerously caught the opponent, combined blows. We even had to stop the fight so that the doctor could examine the contender from Ukraine.
In the ninth round, Arnold’s corner told his ward that he would stop the fight if the situation in the ring did not change. Hegai tried to impose power boxing on Espinoza, but all his attempts were unsuccessful. The Ukrainian did not make it to the 11th round.
