The publication WBN named the main reason for such an act of the Ukrainian – Klitschko wants to break the record of George Foreman, who in 1994 became the oldest super heavyweight champion (45 years old). They remembered the words of Volodymyr, which he said in 2018:
“I train constantly and enjoy sports. I have a huge desire to box, but I don’t know how long I can keep myself in shape. A return to the ring may involve an incredible record.
If I am 46 years old and have enough strength, I would consider breaking the record and becoming the oldest champion in history. Obviously, I’m talking about Foreman. But I still have time to consider everything,” Klitschko said then.
Wladimir Klitschko last appeared in the ring on April 29, 2017, when he lost by knockout to the British Anthony Joshua.
