Well -known boxer: “Donetsk is a tragedy. People collect water in puddles ”

Paul Malinji spoke about the Ukrainian city”, – WRITE: Sport.ua

Former World Champion Paul Malinji He spoke about the Ukrainian city of Donetsk, part of which was occupied by Putin terrorists.

“Donetsk is a special city. It was there that I won my second and last title of world champion. For the boxer, this is the top of a career – a moment that will remain in memory forever. The Donetsk people themselves made a special impression. Despite the fact that I was a guest and defeated their fighter, I was met with great respect: after the battle they approached, greeted, sincerely pressed my hand. These were good and decent people.

And then the war began. I saw a photo with a damaged “Donbas Arena”, learned about the destroyed airport and the missing hotel. What has been built for so long and expensive turned into ruins. It was even more painful to hear from the acquaintances who remained in the city about the humanitarian catastrophe – a lack of water when people were forced to collect rainy in puddles. Someone escaped, and someone is left and survived in inhumane conditions. I still have friends in Donetsk, and I am very sorry that they have to worry. For me, Donetsk is both the top of a sports career and a symbol of a great tragedy. I remember him with gratitude and warmth, but at the same time with deep sadness for the city and the people who surrounded me then, ”Malinji confessed.

Earlier, Paul Malinji reacted to Fury’s words about robbery in battle with Usik.
