The journalist asked when the Ukrainian boxer last got drunk in his life, and received a rather long, but very interesting story with memories of Crimea:
“It happened a long time ago. I was 6 or 7 years old. Mom celebrated her birthday. We lived in Crimea in a small one-room apartment.
The table was set – there were glasses, lemon liqueur and lemonade. My mom and dad and their friends went outside to smoke, and I went to the table and thought, “Oh, an alcoholic drink. Maybe it’s not so bad.”
I drank some liquor and washed it down with lemonade, I didn’t understand what was going on and I started stumbling. My mom said, “Oh my God, what happened?” My dad replied, “I know what happened. This guy is drunk.”

I was drunk. I don’t remember it very well, but I thought: “This is terrible.” I will never drink like that again, because my head doesn’t work.” I wanted to sleep. I went into the room, drank some water and said, “Please help me, I’m going to die.”
My dad replied, “No, you will live.” It was a very valuable lesson. It was great for me,” Usyk shared the story.
