The Ukrainian boxer plans to spend two more years in the ring, after which he will hang up his gloves and build a sports academy. Usyk admitted that he will not give up sports and will continue to train in the gym even if he does not hold official matches.
“I will return to the ring next year. I still plan to box until I’m 41. Then I will build a sports academy, I will train and train there,” Usyk said.
In 2025, the Ukrainian boxer entered the ring once – in July he stopped the British champion Daniel Dubois and won the IBF title, which became the fourth in Oleksandr’s collection (WBC, WBO and WBA).
It is currently unknown who will be Usyk’s next opponent. One of the likely candidates for the fight is New Zealander Joseph Parker, who needs to defeat Briton Fabio Wordley in October.
