Former United World Heavyweight Champion Andy Ruiz Jr stated that the team Oleksandr Usyk approached him about a possible match. The boxer admitted that he is ready to fight for the title again.
“I want to become a champion again. It’s funny, but one of Usyk’s men contacted me and my team and said they were ready to fight me. Among the options were me, Wilder and several other boxers,” Ruiz said.
Usyk became a two-time absolute champion after defeating Daniel Dubois, and later vacated the WBO title to choose his next opponent.
In 2019, Ruiz sensationally knocked out Anthony Joshua and became the world champion.
