Former absolute world champion Oleksandr Usyk plans to hold the next fight against the dangerous American knockout Deontay Wilder.
According to World Boxing News, after the voluntary defense of the title, the Ukrainian will face a mandatory defense. The opponent will be the interim WBC champion Agit Kabael – but only if the German defeats Rudolf Weber on January 10.
Negotiations for the Usyk-Wilder fight are already underway, and both sides are interested in organizing a super-top fight.
Previously, the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight title holder (over 90.7 kg) Oleksandr Usyk (24–0, 15 KOs) talked about his plans and admitted when he intends to end his professional career. The boxer recently made the WBO title vacant and lost the status of absolute world champion.
